About Us

What is now the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations was built in the early 1900's as a private residence. On April 5, 1937 Harold R. Toner moved the funeral home from 410 Broad Ave., North Belle Vernon to the current 626 Broad Ave. location. IN 1973 Harold R. Toner retired, selling the funeral home to Gerald R. Essey. Upon Mr. Essey's passing in 1975 Leonard J. and Mary Joyce Parzynski purchased the funeral home property moving in on April 15, 1976.

The funeral home has undergone many changes over the years beginning in 1984 with a major expansion of the two visitation chapels to better accommodate our families' needs. Along with the addition of the chapels are four stain glass dogwood tree windows that were created to replace the trees that were removed for the addition.

In 1994 another expansion of the funeral home added new office space and a third chapel to the facility for services or visitations. This chapel has three stain glass windows that duplicate the original stain glass window on the stair landing of the funeral home.

In late 1995 the front of the funeral home was given a new look with various trees, shrubs and plants accenting the funeral home with vibrant colors in the spring leading into the fall. A waterfall and pond which is home for many fish sits alongside the front porch adding a soothing sound for peaceful moments of reflection.

In 1996 a new selection room was added for the convenience of the families which we serve.
