Dorothy May Washabaugh

September 12, 1937 — January 15, 2018

Dorothy Hamilla Washabaugh, 80, died Monday, January 15, 2018.  Born September 12, 1937 in Connellsville, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Buchina Hamilla.  She lived in Brandywine Md.and Washington,D.C.area for 61 years, was a member of the St Johns Evangelist Catholic Curch in Clinton, MD and the St. Johns Seniors Lunch Bunch.  Dorothy was employed with the former U.S. Information Agency for 40 years and reassigned to U.S. Department of State were she retired in 2003 with a total 44 1/2 years of Federal Government service.

She is survived by a son Ronald Craig Washabaugh; two grandchildren, Stephen Batory Washabaugh and Andrew Wyatt Washabaugh and wife Jaimie, three great grandchildren Isabella, Jemma and Trevor and two brothers Theodore and Paul Hamilla.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Robert Allan Washabaugh; sister Marion Grimplin and a brother John Hamilla.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515.  Prayers services will be held Friday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by funeral divine liturgy at 10am at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Oleh Seremchuk officiating.

Interment will take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.  Parastas services will be held Thursday evening at 7 pm in the funeral home.  The Family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Dorothy May Washabaugh to the American Cancer Society or St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Perryopolis.
