Edward L. Barron Sr.

Edward L. Barron Sr., 85, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp. died Monday, July 17, 2017 at 6:55 pm at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, Aspinwall. Born February 5, 1932 in Monessen, he was the son of the late John M. and Anna Zeets Barron. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 45 years, Mr. Barron was a member of Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Twp. and was a retired truck driver for the former Dravo Corporation, Charleroi. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the US Air Force and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Joan Silk Barron to whom he was married 58 years; son Dr. Edward L. Barron Jr. of Belle Vernon; two grandsons Edward L. Barron III, Thomas J. Barron and three brothers & two sisters in law John 'Jack' & Patricia Barron of Belle Vernon, Jerry Barron of Normalville and Ronald & Barbara Barron of Monessen. He is preceded in death by an infant son Christopher James Barron; brother Robert Barron; four sisters Kathryn Kachursky, Ann Badzik, Betty Barron and Patti Barron.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held Friday at 9:15 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Twp. with the Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti Pastor as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
