Ernest Arnold

Ernest D. Arnold, 80, of Perryopolis, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 8:20 pm at his home surrounded by his family.  Born November 19, 1936 in Bitner, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Dollie O. Osler Arnold.   A resident of Perryopolis for the past 50 years, Mr. Arnold was a member of the United Methodist Church of Perryopolis and was retired Right of Way Supervisor Civil Engineering for SPK Engineering Inc., Uniontown.  He was a member of the Perryopolis Sons of Italy, a lifetime member of the American Society of Highway engineers and The American Right of Way Association.  Ernest was an avid Pirates, Penguins and Steelers fan, enjoyed golfing, fishing, weekend excursions to the mountains at Ohiopyle and the Youghiogheny Lake along with vacationing at the Gulf Shores with his wife and family.

He is survived by son & daughter in law Daniel J. & Barbara Arnold of Uniontown; daughter & son in law Kimberly & Wendell Strauss of Clinton Mississippi; four grandchildren Tyler A. Dear, Savannah K. Dear, Phillip J. Arnold, Jonathan J. Arnold; brother Robert E. Arnold of Upper Middletown, two sisters Norma J. Springer of Uniontown, Sevilla L. Gibson of Albuquerque, New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Rancosky Arnold, brothers in law & sisters in law Martin & LeAnn Rancosky, Allen J. Springer, Vincent Gibson and Veronica Arnold.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 6-8 PM and Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515.  Funeral services will be held Monday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10:00 AM with the Rev.   officiating.  Entombment will take place in LaFayette Memorial Park.
