The Piano Brothers

John Sivak, 71, of Rostraver Township, formerly of Perryopolis, entered into his heavenly house on December 27th, 2017.  He was born on July 3, 1946 in North Charleroi, the son of the late Michael and Helen Dickun Sivak, Belle Vernon.

An athlete his whole life.  He was a golden gloves boxer that fought to the end.  He was a teacher at Belle Vernon Area School district for 40 years.  A man of "all seasons" for almost 50 years as a WPIAL official for basketball, baseball, softball and football.  He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church in Perryopolis for many years serving on council, teaching and volunteering his time wherever needed.  A volunteer for Meals on Wheels.  He loved to take care of others. 

He was always seen dancing and singing through the halls of BVA, excessively celebrating hitting a 3 pointer or doing anything to make his students smile.  He loved life and always brought out the best in people. He cherished his family and friends. He was a beloved husband and father. John was happiest walking along the beach collecting seashells with his dog Zeke.  His philosophy was "One Day at a Time" to get through any challenging task. 

He is survived by his wife Tracie Keefer Sivak, two daughters & son in law Taylor & Harold Ashbaugh of Smithton, Jenna Sivak of Pittsburgh; brother & sister in law Michael & Jean Sivak of North Carolina; two sisters & brothers in law Barb & Kevin Alvarez of Belle Vernon, Marie & Peter LaRocca of Lancaster; numerous brothers in law & sisters in law, nieces and nephews; his beloved Pets Zeke & Martha Washington and his furry grandkids Frankie, Mr. Feeny & Ziggy Stardust.  He is preceded in death by his son Christopher Michael Sivak; father in iaw & mother in law Bob & Theresa Keefer.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Connellsville on Friday January 12 at 7 PM with the Rev. Robert Lubic as celebrant.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
