John B. McMillen Jr., 88, of Perryopolis, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 7:46 am at his home. Born July 11, 1929 in Perryopolis, he was the son of the late John B. McMillen Sr. and Dortha Hixson McMillen. A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, Mr. McMillen was a member of Calvin United Presbyterian Church, Brownsville. Mr. McMillen was a retired blacksmith from HBC Hilman Barge, Brownsville, a veteran of the Korean war where he served with the US Air Force, member of the Perryopolis VFW and enjoyed tinkering in the garage.
He is survived by his wife Ruth E. Chubboy McMillen to whom he was married 65 years, two daughters & sons in law Sandra & Michael Toth of Belle Vernon, Bonnie & Frank Molek of Coal Center; three grandchildren Michael Toth & friend Tiffani, Mary Jo Livingood & hHusband Jason, Ruthann Molek & friend Craig; six great grandchildren Ryan & Nicholas Mandine, Titon, Riley, Ava, Tessa Livingood; two sisters and brother in law Arlene McMillen of Monongahelaand Mary Lou & Frank Babich of Perryopolis. He is preceded in death by a brother Vaughn McMillen and sister Virginia Whitelaw.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Michael Shepard officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis.
