Mary Louise Barger

January 22, 1926 — August 31, 2017

Mary Louise Marasco Barger, 91, of North Belle Vernon, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp.  Born January 22, 1926 in North Belle Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Josephine Mazzei Marasco.  A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon, Mrs. Barger was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon and was a retired licensed practical nurse from Haven Crest Nursing Home, Carroll Twp. She was a member of the Mon Valley Nurses Association, former Catholic Daughters of the Americas B.V. Court 1522, the outcast bowling league, the Belle Vernon American Legion bocce league, several card clubs and was a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul Society in Monessen.

She is survived by her children Susan Jo Johnson of Charleroi, Thomas Barger & wife Elaine of North Belle Vernon; Mary Ann Hauser of Butler, Nancy Moody & husband Craig of Fayette City; Barbara Sanino Presa which she considered as another daughter; brother & sister in law Angelo & Faith Marasco of Michigan; nine grandchildren Marijo Rongaus & husband Neil, Bryan Johnson and Carly Jenkins, Dianna Barger, Stephanie Barger, Robert Hauser, Jonathan Hauser & wife Amanda, Joseph Hauser & wife Jennifer, Brianna Grunsky & husband Tim, Steven Moody; 10 great grandchildren Marco & Remi Rongaus, Jacob, Joseph, Matthew & Benjamin Hauser, Aubrey, Brooklyn & Alaina Hauser, Bryce Grunsky; and numerous nieces, nephews great nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas ‘Joe’ Barger, 7/11/2017, daughter Phyllis Barger, brother Basil Marasco; two sons in law Larry Johnson and Robert Hauser.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-6 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Prayers of Transfer will be held Monday at 9:15 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Francisco R. Gan Jr. Pastor as celebrant.  Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Mary Louise Barger Sunday at 3 pm in the funeral home.
