Ronald Edwards

July 3, 1942 — November 10, 2017

Ronald R Edwards, of Belle Vernon, passed away on November 10, 2017 at the age of 75.  He was born on July 3, 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio to Dorothy Purdue and Roy Edwards.  He moved to Belle Vernon at the age of 11 and graduated in 1960 from Bellmar High School.  He began working for West Penn Power in Charleroi as a clerk at age 18 and retired as Power Control Supervisor from Allegheny Power Co. in Greensburg at the age of 55.  He was a member of the PA National Guard from 1964 through 1970, a member of the Charleroi Sportsman Club and was passionate about hunting. He was also a member of St. Sebastian’s Church, an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles of all types, loved being outdoors, playing golf, and had a special love for dogs. As a very talented woodworker, he designed and built many projects for his homes.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Ann Mancuso. Also surviving are his treasured blessings: son, Ron Edwards, Jr. of Pittsburgh, daughter Kristen Brown and her husband, Bryan and grandsons, Anthony, Nicholas, and Vincent of N. Huntingdon.  Surviving members of the family also include his sister June Shultz and husband Richard of Lancaster, sister-in-law Bonnie Halinka and husband Don, nieces Kelly Poniatowski and Julie Mancuso, and nephews Michael Mancuso and Donnie Halinka.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-8 pm and Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.   Prayers of Transfer will be held Tuesday at 9:15 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church.  Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
