Charles E. King Jr.

Charles E. King Jr., 89, of Dawson, Lower Tyrone Twp., passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp.  Born October 19, 1930 in Rowes Run, PA he was the son of the late Charles E. King Sr. and Margaret Keffer King.  A resident of Dawson for over 60 years, Mr. King Jr. was a very active and devote member of The Church of Jesus Christ, Vanderbilt.

Mr. King Jr. was a retired rail road conductor from Conrail and Norfolk Southern Railroads, a veteran of the Korean War having served with the US Army, member of Masons, Shriners, Perryopolis VFW Goldstar Post 7023, active member of his church, avid HAM Radio operator, airplane pilot, enjoyed woodworking and was known for his grandfather, grandmother and wall clocks, always enjoyed telling a story, music and playing his harmonica.

He is survived by his wife Newanna Fleming King to whom he was married 67 years; son & daughter in law David & Elaine King of Dawson; daughter in law Wilma King of Smock wife of predeceased son Dale King; nephew Lawrence King along with numerous other nieces and nephews; six grandchildren Kerri Mackley, Joshua King, Adam King, Tyler King, Ashley Palmieri, Vincent Palmieri, great granddaughter Elizabeth King.

He is preceded in death by his infant son Don King, twin brother of Dale King, three brothers Jesse, James, Richard King; an adopted brother Donald King; five sisters Katherine King, AdaBelle Hardesty, Lily Kilgore, Jenny King and Daisy King.

Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515.  Relatives and friends will gather directly at The Church of Jesus Christ, Vanderbilt for funeral services on Saturday November 23, 2019 at 11 AM with the ministry of The Church of Jesus Christ officiating.  Interment will take place in Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery.

Members of the Perryopolis VFW Goldstar Post 7023 will conduct services Friday at 6 PM in the funeral home.
