Edward l. 'Egg' Knight

Edward L. “Egg” Knight 74, of Dawson passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday January 9, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. Ed was born on June 21 ,1943 in Elizabeth son of the late Richard H. and Dorothy Grey Anderson Knight. Ed went on to marry the love of his life Connie Stenger on June 3, 1964.
Edward was a Veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and a member of the American Legion. He was the owner and operator and proud of his Marmon Tractor Trailer. He worked for General Delivery, Fox Groceries, Better Living mobile homes, JC Solomon Holiday Mobile Home Park and Rathway Trucking. He was a graduate of Mary Fuller Frazier High School Class of 1961 and a member of the United Methodist Church of Layton. Ed was a jack of all trades and a mechanical genius when it came to anything, especially cars. He loved NASCAR and racing mainly when his Fords would win.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Connie Stenger Knight, daughter Christy Knight Goodwin of Dawson; son John ‘JR” Knight of Dawson; granddaughter Kayla Dawn Goodwin who he was so proud of and nicknamed her Screamy from birth and the most special little man his great grandson Bentley James Parrish who shared his birthday of June 21st; three brothers and sister in law Harold Knight of Brownsville, Richard Knight of Dawson, Marvin and Barbara Knight of Dawson; brother in law and sister in law Eric and Donna Stenger of West Leisnring and is best friend and side kick dog Juno who never left him. He is preceeded in death by his infant son Lee Edward Knights, two sisters Janet ‘Sue’ Geehring and Linda Ansell; father in law and mother in law John & Mabel Stenger; and a nephew Ricky Stenger.
Visitation will be held Friday January 12, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Donna Stenger officiating. Interment will take place in Green Ridge Memorial Park.
