Frank M. ‘Bud’ Shaffer, 96, of Bitner, Dunbar, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Country Care Manor. Born September 22, 1922 in Crucible, PA he was the son of the late George O. and Mary Thomas Shaffer. A resident of Bitner for over 70 years, Mr. Shaffer was Methodist by faith and was a retired warehouseman from the former Fox Grocery. He was a member of the Juniata Sportsman Club and the Perryopolis Sokols Club, enjoyed gardening, playing the banjo and listening to all types of music especially blue grass. Frank was always fixing things around the house, enjoyed working on vehicles, classic cars, spending time with his family and was always one to take time and talk with you.
He is survived by daughter Betty Zadrozny of Arnold City; two sons & daughters in law Frank Shaffer Jr. & wife Phyllis of Florence, SC, Jeffrey & Barbara Shaffer of Dunbar; son in law Tom Smith of Bitner; eight grandchildren Mike Zadrozny, John Hoye, Jeffrey Shaffer Jr., Matthew Shaffer, Desire Shaffer, Nicole Shaffer, Devon Shaffer, Josie Konopa; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers Thomas Shaffer and Andrew Shaffer both of Canonsburg and a sister Dorothy Seese of Smock. He is preceded in death by his wife Olive Pearl McClelland Shaffer (1/23/2016); daughter Karen Shaffer Hoye Smith; son Frank Zadrozny; son in law Frank 'Zeke' Zadrozny; four brothers John, Jim, Walt and Chuck Shaffer.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held Monday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10:00 AM with the Chaplain Josh Boyd of Medi Home Hospice officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
