Theodore 'Ted' A. Sobek

Theodore A. ‘Ted’ Sobek, 85, of Star Junction, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Hillside Manor, Uniontown.  Born August 20, 1933 in Rowes Run, PA he was the son of the late Stanley and Nellie Gancos Sobek.   A resident of Star Junction for the past 53 years, Mr. Sobek was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Perryopolis.  Mr. Sobek was the former owner and operator of Sobek's Exxon, Star Junction.

Ted was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the US Army and was a member of the Perryopolis Knights of Columbus Council 4427.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa Sobek of Pittsburgh; son Gregory Sobek of Smithton; granddaughter Josyln Sobek and brother & sister in law Stanley and Joyce Sobek of Rowes Run, nephew Jonathan Sobek and niece Juliann Braddock.  He is preceded in death by brothers Frank, Walter, Henry, Pete Sobek and sisters Helen Sobek, Ann Nellie Metrosky and Stella Green.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist RC Church on June 1, 2019 at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Alvin Cabungcal as celebrant.
