Alphonse Darkangelo, 79, of Perryopolis, died Monday, November 6, 2017 at 2:19 am at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp. Born November 9, 1937 in Perryopolis, he was the son of the late Giocondi and Antonette Nocci Darkangelo. A resident of Perryopolis for the past 11 years, Mr. Darkangelo was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Perryopolis, served as a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean War, was a retired supervisor from General Motors, Michigan, was an avid gardener, enjoyed bowling, golf and softball.
He is survived by his wife Martha Stickle Darkangelo to whom he was married 49 years; two daughters & son in law Gina & Greg Popelas of Belle Vernon, Tina Marie Darkangelo of Belle Vernon; son Jeff Darkangelo of Perryopolis; three grandchildren Geoffrey Darkangelo & Partner Bronwyn Waid, Gregory Popelas, Dakoda Darkangelo anf partner Matt Ritchie; great granddaughter Kaitlyn Juniper Darkangelo; two brothers & sisters in law Joe & Bonnie Darkangelo of MI, Frank & Ursula Darkangelo of CA; three sisters Lena Taylor & Bob Brown of IN, Virginia Colamarino of Pittsburgh and Dolores Barnes. He is preceded in death by a brother John Darkangelo, five sisters Teresa Darkangelo, Rose Wingrove, Dalinda Wingrove, Mary Kostilnik, Elizabeth Stickel and a daughter in law Melony R. Darkangelo.
