Annie Fontanelli

November 19, 1921 — May 28, 2016

Annie Amoroso Fontanelli, 94, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Monessen, died peacefully with her brother George, who was killed in action in WW II, waiting for her on the other side Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9:45 pm at Meadowcrest Nursing Home, Bethel Park.  Born November 19, 1921 in Belle Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Gregorio and Filomena Menacci Amoroso.   A resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Fontanelli was Catholic by faith and was a homemaker.

The last surviving member of the Amoroso family, Annie is survived by two sons & daughter in law James E. & Nancy Fontanelli of West Mifflin, Arthur Fontanelli Jr. of Indiana and six grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Dominick Fontanelli 11/11/1997; a daughter Donna Jean Sandrey; seven brothers Bill, Joe, Guido, Attilio, Charles, Dominick, George Amoroso; three sisters Mary Fedarko, Natalie 'Lil' Costantino and Lumenia Spurlin.

Visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick Pastor of St. Sebastian R.C. Church officiating at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Interment took place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
