Anthony F. DelVerme

With family by his side, Anthony Francis “Tony” DelVerme, 79, of Waltersburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16 at Shadyside Hospital. A son of the late Patsy and Virginia Marino DelVerme, Tony was born on December 27, 1945 in Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of Redstone High School, Class of 1963, attended Pittsburgh Beauty Academy (PBA) and was named into the PBA Hall of Fame. An Honor graduate of PA National Guard OCS Program, 2LT Engineer Branch Qualified, he served as a Reserve Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army. Spanning more than 60 years, Tony’s illustrious career began at Tressa Corporation where he was an understudy of Peter Hantz. He worked as their platform artist training his team and teaching hair cutting classes. He traveled internationally and attended Masterclasses with some of the industry’s most renowned artists including: Toni & Guy, London; Luis Llongueras, Barcelona; Aldo Coppula, Milan and Keoshi Isaturi, Tokyo. He invented spiral-wrapping techniques and co-invented “Rod-to-Roller Transfer”, an innovative process for permanent waving. He continued his work at Goldwell developing and designing many white line products while running a successful hair salon in Monessen, next door to his father and brother’s salons. He served on the Advisory Board at the Fayette County Career & Technical Institute in Uniontown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James DelVerme of New Eagle; brother-in-law Thomas Latkanich and sister-in-law Driscilla “Drissey” Lazzari, both of Belle Vernon; niece, Ronell Baron of Allenport and his loving animals, Max, Oreo, Ladybug, Angel, Sibby and Tiger. Tony is survived by his wife, Rosetta Baron, with whom he shared more than 30 beautiful years. Together they enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, dancing and traveling, especially to Rome, Italy where they joined in the celebration of JUBILAEM A.D. 2000 - Christ Yesterday, Today, Forever. He is also survived by 2 sons, Scott (Jennifer) DelVerme of Uniontown and Anthony (Kristina) DelVerme of Hopwood; 4 grandsons, Rocco, Bruno, Dante and Dominick; sister, Patricia and husband, the Rev. Robert Henry of Gibsonia; brother-in-laws, Ronald (Barbara) Baron of Coal Center, John (Lynn) Baron of Belle Vernon, David Lazzari of Monessen; sister-in-laws, Carole (Lou) Sellaro and Joanne Latkanich, all of Belle Vernon and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 9-10:30 AM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Followed by prayers of transfer at 10:30 AM in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 11 AM at St. Sebastian RC Church, Belle Vernon.
