Arlene Bitonti Vargo, 87, of Fayette City, Jefferson Twp., passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026 at her home. Born May 21, 1939 in Belle Vernon, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Cimino Bitonti. A resident of Fayette City for over 60 years, Mrs. Vargo was Catholic by faith and retired from Bell Telephone, where she worked as a telephone operator. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, playing cards, laughing, dancing, enjoying good food with friends/family, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Joseph Vargo to whom she was married to for 66 years, daughter & son in law Terri Lynn & Kevin Shimko of Houston, PA, son Joseph Kent Vargo of Rome, GA, two grandchildren Jonathan Denton Vargo, Josephine Sophia Vargo, and cousins Jim & Veronica Davis, Carol Cefola Huntley. She is preceded in death by her brothers Peter & John Bitonti.

Visitation and funeral services were held privately for the family. Arlene’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515.
