Betty Jean Biggins

Betty Jean Levasseur Biggins, 65, formerly of Delaware, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at Elizabeth Seton Memory Care Center, Greensburg.  Born October 6, 1951 in Waterville, ME she was the daughter of the late Roch and Rosa Burns Levasseur.  Mrs. Biggins was a member of St. Jude the Apostle RC Church, Lewes, DE.

Betty grew up in Waterville, ME. She graduated from Husson University in Bangor, ME where she met Mike. They married after graduation and were married for 41 years. Betty was involved in several church activities at St. Jude the Apostle Church serving as teacher in both youth and adult religious education, as a Eucharist Minister, and in various parish organizations. She was a charter member of the Columbiettes at St. Jude`s and twice served as president of the organization. Betty loved being a grandmother. She enjoyed travel, spending time in nature and loved animals. She made a positive impact in many people's lives, in the early years as a volunteer tax preparer and in later years as a member of St. Jude`s Bereavement ministry.

She is survived by her husband Michael Biggins to whom she was married 41 years; two sons & daughter in law Michael & Namita Biggins of Falls Church, VA, Robert Biggins of Milton, DE; three grandchildren Ian Biggins-Weeden, Sohan Biggins, Nishant Biggins; brother & sister in law Rock & Paulette Levasseur of Carver, Massachusetts; two sisters & brother in law Joan & Armand Poulin of Montpelier, Vermont, Terry Levasseur of Buxton, Maine and a sister in law Kathy Levasseur of Belgrade, Maine.  She is preceded in death by a brother Joseph Levasseur.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday December 9th, 2016 at 11 AM at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Lewes, DE.  Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill https://11573.thankyou4caring.org/donate or Heartland Hospice, Irwin, PA https://www.heartlandhospice.com/irwin.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
