Carmen ‘Russ’ Scaccia, 80, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026 at his home. Born February 18, 1946 in N. Charleroi, PA he was the son of the late Samuel R. and Edna Elizabeth Patterson Scaccia. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 60 years, Mr. Scaccia was a member of St. Sebastian RC Church, Belle Vernon. A proud Vietnam veteran, he served honorably in the US Army. After retiring as a roller from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport, he contributed to Miranda Homes and most recently worked as a dedicated crossing guard at St. Sebastian School. He was a valued member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, Belle Vernon Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 209, and he enjoyed playing bocce ball.

He is survived by his two daughters & sons in law Cheryl & Jeff Anthony of Benton, AK, Christi & Luis Zhicay of North Belle Vernon, sister Linda Jo Smith of Harrison City, three grandchildren Jordan Amen, Morgan Anthony, Samuel Ali, and three great grandchildren Sadie, Julia, and Emma Jean Amen. He is preceded in death by his wife Connie Lee Wood Scaccia, son Wayne Russell Scaccia, and infant sister Sandra Kay Scaccia.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7:30 PM followed by funeral services at 7:30 PM with Pastor Jeff Anthony officiating at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.

Members of the Belle Vernon Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 209 will conduct services for Russ at 6:30 PM followed by services by the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 at 7 PM.
