Carol Lee Metrosky of Rostraver Township in Belle Vernon passed
from this life on May 14, 2016. Devoted wife of Theodore (Ted) Metrosky,
loving mother of Jeffrey Metrosky (Lisa) , and proud “Gram" of
Zachary Thomas and Matthew Michael Metrosky. Carol was the
dedicated daughter of the late Pete and Theresa Galiotto Manzini of
Belle Vernon. She is a sister to Erminia Pastorkovich who resides in
Washington Township and the aunt of Diane Pastorkovich of
Zeleinople. She is survived by her two nephews Joe Pastorkovich of
Arizona, and Dave Pastorkovich (also her Godson), of Pittsburgh.
She graduated with her husband Ted from Bellmar High School in
1961. She also was a graduate of the Grace Martin School of Business
in Pittsburgh with certification in court reporting. Upon her business
graduation she became employed as the Secretary in the Service
Department at Lee Norse Company in Charleroi. Carol and Ted were
married on June 6,1964. In 1978 she was hired by the Belle Vernon
Area School District as secretary at Rostraver Junior High School. In
1979 she was transferred to the Belle Vernon Area High School Library
to fill a vacancy of a retiree where she worked for 15 years. She then
elected to transfer to the principal's office in the high school until her
retirement in January 2005.
Carol was a former member of the Mon Valley Center for Fitness and
Health, the Rostraver Woman’s Club, Confraternity of Christian

Rostraver Township Historical Society and Westmoreland County
Secretaries Association. She was a member of the Rostraver Township
Library, the Russian Club of Pricedale, and her beloved Church of St.
Anne's.
Her life was dedicated to her family. She was a partial caregiver to her
parents in their later years. Carol “lived for her guys"—husband Ted,
“one and only" son Jeff, and “best friends" grandsons Zachary and
Matthew. Like most grandparents she preserved every visit with her
grandsons.
During her tenure with the school district she was supportive of the
students activities and fund raisers. Both she and Ted enjoyed attending the high school football games each season. Following her retirement she took pleasure attending her grandson’s sporting events, entertaining in her home, playing slots at the casinos, attending the Pitt Panther football games and traveling. She looked forward to trips to the Caribbean Islands with Ted each year selecting a different one to visit. Through the years, prior to her arthritis and vision problems, she enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling and the game of golf. She revered her dearest friendships and considered her good neighbors, the Gobbie family, her extended family.
As per her request, there will be no public viewing but a mass of Christian burial will be said Tuesday May 17, 2015 at 10 am at her home parish with her priest, Rev. Vince Gigliotti of the Church of St. Anne. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the Church of St. Anne. Interment will be at the Belle Vernon Mausoleum.
