Carolyn Cherocci

Carolyn Samoda Cherocci, 78, of Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at her home. Born August 1, 1946 in N. Charleroi, PA she was the daughter of the late William Samoda and Martha Kistler Samoda Fay. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Carolyn was a member of the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene where she loved singing and playing the organ in church. She was a retired supervisor from DMV, Belle Vernon, where she worked as a Supervisor, retired secretary from Belle Vernon Boro, loved camping and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter & son in law Shelley & Denny Long of Washington Twp. with whom she made her home, four grandchildren Courtney Samoda, Falyn Samoda, Hannah Samoda, Christina Barcus; a great grandson Jeffrey Lamar Carlock II and her grand fur Babies JU-JU & Pouncey. She is preceded in death by her husband James S. Cherocci Sr.; daughter Shawndell Adair Samoda Muro; three brothers Robert Maybie, John Flieshman, Ron Shaulis and her stepfather Fred Fay.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-7:30 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183 followed by funeral services at 7:30 PM with the Rev. Patti Smith of Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene officiating. The family would wish to extend a special thank you to her aide Bea Holma and her nurse Abbey Taffoni from Amedisys Hospice for their loving care and support.
