Charles Sztroin, Jr. 74, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born June 7, 1950, in N. Charleroi, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Sztroin, Sr. and Florence Strychalski Sztroin Rovny. Chuck’s lifelong dedication to education began at Bethel Park High School, leading to a distinguished career as Director of Multimedia at Westmoreland County Community College, where he retired after 30 impactful years. Alongside his professional career, Chuck was a gifted photographer, contractor, artist, and educator. He ran Chasz Photography in Belle Vernon and Vintage Photo Emporium at Seven Springs Resort and was a Certified Master Gunsmith. He earned the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt teaching at Chon’s Karate in Belle Vernon, inspiring students and coaching the Little Tigers Demo Team. Chuck’s legacy lives on through his contributions to education and the arts.

Chuck’s passions included skiing, motorcycles, classic cars, boating and trap shooting. Yet, Chuck would proudly say that his greatest accomplishments were becoming a father to his son, Chaz, and a grandfather to his beloved “Sweetheart,” Addie Mae. His most treasured moments were spent with family, friends, and his loyal Labrador retriever, Remi, creating memories that will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Robin Houseman Sztroin to whom he was married for 51+ years; son and daughter-in-law Chaz & Nichole Anderson Sztroin and granddaughter Addison Mae Sztroin of Belle Vernon; two brothers Myron Byrdsong and Gary Sztroin both of Belle Vernon, his Sister Gloria Bennett of Lexington, SC and his K9 buddy, Remington.
