We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Dennis James Highberger, who passed away on May 22, 2026 at the age of 68 at home surrounded by his loving family. Above all of his accomplishments, Dennis was most proud of his family. He was the ultimate "Pap Pap," a title he wore with immense pride and joy. He was a constant cheerleader at BVA football games where he loved watching Nina cheer on Friday nights, the first to offer a sweet treat or funny story when Elsie & Evan came to visit, and a patient listener on the phone when Victoria & Noah called to chat. He had a unique way of making each of his grandchildren feel as though they were the most important person in the room. He showed them what love looked like through his playful and at times, obnoxious spirit. His memory will live on in every lesson he taught and every laugh shared. He is survived by his wife Norma whom he adored until the very end. She was his everything and her grace and unwavering love should be admired.
Also survived by son Alvin Highberger, daughter Aileen Luckowski, daughter Amy Boyd (Chad Boyd), son-in-law Robert Luckowski, sister Denise Highberger, sister Darla Keefer (Dave Keefer), five grandchildren Nina Luckowski, Victoria Highberger, Noah Highberger, Elsie Boyd, Evan Boyd, and his beloved dog Chico plus numerous fishing buddies and friends who loved his witty banter and funny sense of humor.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 29th from 6-7:30 PM followed by funeral services at 7:30 PM with Pastor Frank Menhart Jr. of Blainesburg Bible Church officiating at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Private family interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to the Amedisys Hospice nurse and staff, especially his nurse, Abbey.
