Dolores Jean Williams Matras, 98, of Perryopolis, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Horizon PCH, Fairchance. Born July 12, 1927 in Wickhaven, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Evelyn McCracken Williams. A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, Mrs. Matras was a member of St. John The Baptist RC Church, Perryopolis. Dolores worked at Randall’s Restaurant for over 50 years as a waitress retiring at age 81. Loved to crochet, enjoying other crafts such as pottery, ceramics and sewing, was a true 'fashinista', loving to dress up. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren before anything. She was also a caregiver for her mom and sister.
She is survived by her son & daughter in law Michael & Maureen (Calderone) Matras of Perryopolis; three grandchildren Maura (Aaron) Drop, Michael (Cara) Matras, Mark (Kara) Matras; 6 great grandchildren Michael R. Matras, Eli Matras, Cameron Matras, Brynlee Nirmaier, Rowan Matras, Saylor Drop. She is preceded in death by her husband Michael 'MIG' Matras (2003); sister Margaret Williams; three brothers Ralph Williams, Woodrow Williams and James Williams.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-6 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Prayers of Transfer will be held Monday at 10:00 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. John The Baptist RC Church with the Rev. Anthony Onoko as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. John The Baptist RC Cemetery. The family would wish to extend special thanks to Michelle, Rhonda and staff at Horizons Personal Care Home for their loving care and support, Harry and Jim for their thoughtfulness and to the nurses and staff Amedisys Homecare and Hospice especially Brittany, Molly and Dr. Canada. The Slovak Catholic Sokols will have a prayer service at 5 PM on Sunday.
