Dorothy (Bice) Halgus

Dorothy Bice Halgus, 94, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp., died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 1:04 pm at her home.  Born October 5, 1921 in Mather, PA she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Jankovich Bice.  Mrs. Halgus was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church and enjoyed playing cards and played with the Poker Club and the 500 Club for over 40 years.  Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker enjoying baking and cooking and was always generous with family and friends.

She is survived by her son & daughter in law Joseph & Carol Halgus of Palm Beach, Florida, daughter & son in law Janet & Julius Petrosky of Washington Twp., three grandchildren Jodie Dale, Christopher Halgus, Stacie & Eric Freed and six great grandchildren Jenna Dale, Katia Freed, Caelan Freed, Karrina Freed, Christian Freed and Joey Halgus and many beloved nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband Jospeh Halgus (6/14/2006) and four sisters Stella Yanak, Ruth McGinsky, Mary Mrkobard and Mildred Magic.

Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Prayer Service will be held Saturday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick Pastor as celebrant.  Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Dorothy Halgus Friday at 3 pm in the funeral home.
