Edgar T. Sheperd Jr

Edgar T. "Ted" Sheperd Jr., 78, of Speers, passed away after a lengthy illness Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at 2:46 p.m. at Southmont Presbyterian Sr. Care, Washington. Originally from Victory Hill, Ted was born April 18, 1937, in Monongahela. He was the son of the late Edgar T. Sheperd Sr. and Roberta G. Culp Sheperd. A resident of Speers for the past 39 years, Mr. Sheperd was Protestant by faith. Mr. Sheperd was a retired rates technician from West Penn Power, Cabin Hill, Greensburg, was a member of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows, Lodge 317 from Gastonville, was an avid history buff, loved to read and loved to re-enact. He was a longtime member of the 11th Pennsylvania Reserves 40th PVI. He is survived by his three children, Kim and Leonard Heino of Speers, Thomas E. and Melissa Sheperd of Carlisle, Robert W. and Kim Sheperd of Charleroi; proud grandfather of Jason Michael Sheperd Koslosky, Katharine Sheperd, David Sheperd, Sarah Sheperd; and a brother and sister.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Parzynski Funeral Home and Cremations at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Conrad Auel of First Christian Church of Monessen officiating. Interment will take place in Monongahela Cemetery. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Nucleus Lodge 377 will conduct services Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
