Edna Mae Cole Swearer, 86, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp., died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. Born September 8, 1931 in Fredericktown, she was the daughter of the late Albert Franklin and Edna Johanna Carlson Cole. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Swearer was a member of the First Christian Church of Brownsville where she was a very active member in the church. Edna was involved in vacation bible schools, served as a former Sunday school teacher for over 50 years, was a Deaconess at the church, member of the church choir, was a junior teacher and received teacher of the year in 1990. She was also a member of the former Charleroi American Legion Post 22 Ladies Auxiliary and was a graduate of California High School Class of 1951.
She is survived by three daughters & sons in law Edna Johanna & Kenneth Menia of Charleroi, Sue Ellen & Jeffrey Morris of Rostraver Twp., Lori Ann & Kenny McClain of Monessen; three grandchildren George & wife Laruen, Johanna & husband Chris, Crystal and four great grandchildren Hailey, Tyler, Victoria & Aleczander. She is preceded in death by her husband Keith Swearer and five brothers.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held Monday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10 AM with the Rev. Paul Sandusky of Brownsville First Christian Church officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
