Edward W. Regula

January 12, 1919 — March 5, 2017

Edward W. Regula, 98, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp., passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home.  Born January 12, 1919 in Monessen, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Tomayko Regula.  A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 47 years, Mr. Regula was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon.  Edward served in the US Army Air Corps. as a B17 pilot with the Flying Fortress in WW II.  He flew 49 missions in N. Africa and Italy during 1943-1944 and was the recipient of the Purple heart.  After returning to civilian life he was an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electricians.  In his earlier days, he was a baseball player with a team that he enjoyed every summer.  Edward was also interested in antique collecting along with his wife Ann.  He was an avid sports fan and was a gentle and kind person and will be greatly missed.

The last surviving member of his immediate family he is survived by nieces Camille Indof of Rostraver Twp., Joan Zucconi of Belle Vernon along with several other nieces and nephews and a sister in law Ella Stewart.  He is preceded in death by his wife Ann M.  Rebovich Regula in 1998; brother Charles 'Bud' Regula; four sisters Amelia Cross, Pauline Connor, Mary Mayerchak and Charlotte Regula.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Prayers of Transfer will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 11:30 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Anthony Ditto as celebrant.  Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.   Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul for Edward Regula Tuesday at 3 pm in the funeral home.
