Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Kroskie Chorba, 91, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Born January 8, 1935 in Arnold City, PA she was the daughter of the late Walter W. Kroskie Sr. and Della Gondusky Kroskie. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Chorba was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church and was a retired custodian for the Belle Vernon Area School District At Marion Elementary. Betty was a lifelong member of the Naomi Athletic Club and played a key role as a founding member of The Ladies Auxiliary. She cherished her time spent with friends and family, often enjoying outings to the casinos and trying her luck at slot machines, along with numerous trips to Las Vegas. In her leisure time, Betty found joy in solving crossword puzzles and was a lifelong supporter of Pittsburgh Steelers football team.
She is survived by her five children: Cindy & Bill Teets Sr. of Carroll Twp., Terrie Reeves of Belle Vernon, Tom & Cheryl Chorba of Elizabeth, Brian & Laurie Chorba of Hilton Head, SC, Bernie & Deb Chorba of Bethel Park, sister and brother in law Adeline & Ron Lupori of Atlanta, GA, sister in law Karen Kroskie of Oakmont, a special cousin who was like a sister, Wanda Sever of Washington, nine grandchildren, Bo (Jena), Bobby (Samantha), AJ, Ryan, Courtney, Christopher (Kristy), Tommy (Olivia), Cassidy, Tyler, 12 great grandchildren, Lyla, Carmen, John Ryan, Luke, Mason, Saylor, Layonna, Erica, Leo, Cru, Theo, Beck, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Bernard J. Chorba (4-29-2010), four brothers J. Edward Kroskie, Stanley 'Scrubby' Kroskie, Walter 'Wudge' Kroskie, Joseph Paul Kroskie, son in law Robert Reeves, great granddaughter Lucianna Theresa Reeves.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-6 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held Monday at 9:15 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
