Elizabeth Petros

Elizabeth Misher Petros, 97, of Belle Vernon, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Hallsworth House, Monessen.  Born July 31, 1926 in Washington Twp., PA she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine Kowasic Misher.  A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Petros was a member of St. Sebastian RC Church and was retired from Mon Valley Hospital, where she worked as an escort.   She volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul, Monessen, enjoyed going to Center on the Hill Senior Center, and always enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home.

She is survived by two daughters and son in law Candace Patterson of Belle Vernon, Cynthia & Frank Hoosac of Belle Vernon; two grandchildren Jonathan Patterson, Amber (Jason) Andria; six great grandchildren Kendall, Jeremy, Avery, Alivia, Zoey, Madison; numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband John Petros, two brothers, a sister and son in law William Patterson.  

A private family visitation and funeral service were held on Friday with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Interment took place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Joan Holets of ViaQuest Hospice and to all of the staff at Hallsworth House for the comforting care given to Elizabeth.
