Elizabeth Darkangelo Stickel, 85, of Perryopolis, died Monday, September 11, 2017 at 6:10 pm at her home. Born January 24, 1932 in Perryopolis, she was the daughter of the late Giocondi and Antonnette Nocci Darkangelo. A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, Mrs. Stickel was Catholic by faith and was a retired stocker from the Perryopolis Shop-n-Save and the Perry Drug Store. She was a member of the Perryopolis Sons of Italy, Perryopolis Sokols, enjoyed dancing with her lady friends, playing cards, bocci and bowling.
She is survived by her daughter Valerie Young & friend Rich Gates of Ruffs Dale, granddaughter Jodi Hone-Shipley, great granddaughter Morgan Elizabeth Shipley & friend Alex; three brothers & sisters in law Joe & Bonnie Darkangelo of MI, Frank & Ursula Darkangelo of CA, Al & Martha Darkangelo of Perryopolis; three sisters Lena Taylor & friend Bob of IN, Virginia Colamarino of Pittsburgh, Dolores Barnes of TX and numerous nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Stewart R. Stickel; brother John Darkangelo; four sisters Teresa Darkangelo, Rose Wingrove, Dalinda Wingrove and Mary Kostilnik.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-8 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 15473 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Members of St. John the Baptist church will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Elizabeth Stickel Thursday at 3 pm in the funeral home.
