Frank L. Nick

Frank L. Nick, 86, of Perryopolis (Formerly of Grindstone), passed away peacefully at Uniontown Hospital-WVU Medicine surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Born June 24th, 1938 in Brownsville, PA, he was the son of the late Steven and Margaret Kelemen Nick. A resident of Perryopolis for the past five years, Mr. Nick was a devoted member of Perryopolis United Methodist Church where he loved attending church services. Frank proudly worked for Lincoln Homes before his career as a Coal Miner with Mathies Coal Mine and Mon View Coal Mine where he was a member of the UMWA for over 50 years. He loved to garden, feed birds, hunt, fish, go shopping, was an avid Steelers fan, and was affectionately known as the “Lawn Mower Man” for as much as he loved cutting grass. Above all, Frank was a committed family man who cherished holidays, gatherings, and any opportunity to be surrounded by loved ones.

He is survived by his five children Shannon & David Hough of Perryopolis, Shawn & Jamie Jenkins-Nick of Brownsville, Barbara & Jeff McCoy of Uniontown, Frank Nick Jr. & Shelly of Reidville, SC, Margaret Harvey of Grindstone, brother Michael Nick, sister Helen Swarrow, 12 grandchildren David, Shelby, Kayla, Jeremy, Kellie, Frankie, Lacey, Angela, Haley, Justin, Shaina, Bonnie, and several great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Denny Nick, great grandson Zayden, two brothers Steve Nick, Joe Nick, and son-in-law Jim Harvey.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 24 from 2-3 pm at the Perryopolis United Methodist Church followed by a memorial service at 3 PM with Pastor Chuck Jack officiating.
