George R. Clark, 95, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp., passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, at Hallsworth House, Monessen. Born February 9, 1931, in Belle Vernon, PA he was the son of the late George R. Clark Sr. and Rose Emma Curcio Clark. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Clark was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon, was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War, including traveling to the North Pole and Cuba. George retired from Whg-Pgh Steel as safety superintendent for 30 years at all of the mills. After his retirement he was employed at PIC for 7 years implementing its safety program. George also raised and trained homing pigeons, was a member of the Mon Valley Pigeon Club, was an active member of the American Iron & Steel Institute, enjoyed fishing at Cape Hatteras, hunting and gardening. He also attained the rank of Eagle Scout and later served as an Assistant Scoutmaster.
He is survived by his wife Sabra Salva Clark to whom he celebrated 72 years of marriage on August 2nd; 3 children Susan & Omar Ghoweri of Harrisburg, Raymond & Sheryl Clark of Steubenville, OH, Diane & Thomas Lofink of Belle Vernon; six grandchildren Jamie Simon, Dean Ghoweri, Salem Ghoweri, Adam Ghoweri, Billy Clark, Sarah Murray; three great grandchildren Seraphina Ghoweri, Emma Simon, Tyler Murray and a brother & sister in law Robert & Carol Clark of Mt. Lebanon. He is preceded in death by his son James Clark, sister Dorothy 'Joann' Melnick and an infant brother James Clark.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held Thursday at 10:00 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael Thomas as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parish Rosary will be held Wednesday at 3 PM in the funeral home.
