Imogene Kirkpatrick

Imogene ‘Emmy’ Sechrist Burton Kirkpatrick, 96, of Perryopolis, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at her granddaughter’s home. Born October 23, 1927 in Jacobs Creek, PA. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Viva Johnston Sechrist. A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, Imogene was a member of Little Redstone Presbyterian Church, Fayette City. She was a member of the Jacobs Creek Baptist Church Ladies Aide Society and socialized at the Perryopolis Senior Center. She was a devoted homemaker, an exceptional cook and enjoyed baking with her grandkids. Imogene had fun playing bingo, loved going to Walt Disney World, and enjoyed camping on the weekends at Big Bear Lake. 

She is survived by her five children: Darla (Burton) Wauchter & Rick of Allison Park, Richard Burton Jr. of Fayette City, Gale (Burton) Tomko of Perryopolis, Debra (Burton) Yanke of Pittsburgh, James Burton of Perryopolis; two stepchildren Karen Lee & Gary Smith of Perryopolis, Cathy English of Greensburg; brother Darrell Sechrist of Jacobs Creek; two sisters & brothers in law Marlene & Tom Hrach of Smithton, Agnes & Wayne Judy of West Newton; 14 grandchildren: Michelle Burton, Steven Bobbs, Joseph Burton, Alan Bobbs (Yvette), Tiffany Hough (Broc), Paul Hatlapatka, Matthew Smith (Pam), Jeffrey Smith (Angie), Jessica Kinik (fiancé Bart Buttermore), Randy Bobbs, Sandy Painter, Lisa English, Joseph Yankee (Rachel), Michael Yankee; 22 great grandchildren: Blake, Brielle, Brandon, Malana, Arey, Alexandra, Kara, Zachary, Aaron, Kevin, Talon, Jacqueline, Mariah, Brian, John, Jesse, Cameron, Tyler, Brendan, Zachary, Austin, Kylie; several great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband Richard H. Burton Sr., second husband Lawrence A. Kirkpatrick, three brothers Lewis ‘Jack’, Lloyd, and Harry Sechrist, two sisters Evelyn Sechrist, Shirley Marino, daughter in law Barbara Burton, two sons in law Stephen Tomko, Edward Yanke, granddaughter in law Margaret Bobbs. 

Visitation will be held Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held Monday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC at 11:30 AM with the Pastor Tim Green of Calvary Chapel of South Pittsburgh and Pastor Joshua Scully of Litte Redstone Presbyterian Church, Fayette City officiating. Interment will take place in Olive Branch Cemetery.
