James Baker, 83, of Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at VA Hospital, Oakland, Pittsburgh. Born February 4, 1942 in N. Charleroi, PA he was the son of the late John and Veronica Duda Baker. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon Area, Mr. Baker was a member of the St. John the Baptist RC Church, Perryopolis and was retired from former Fox Grocery and SuperValue, Belle Vernon, where he worked as a warehouseman. He was a veteran of Vietnam War where he served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Naomi Athletic Club, Pricedale Russian Club where he enjoyed playing Texas Hold'EM at the club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a muscle car enthusiast and reading the daily paper.
He is survived by his three children: James G. Baker & Fiancé Angela Morrison of Belle Vernon, Rebecca & Jason Giovannelli of Perryopolis, Thomas Baker of Denver, CO, and two grandchildren Claire Giovannelli and Lucas Giovannelli. He is preceded in death by his wife Dora Anne Nutter Baker, two brothers Steve Baker and John Baker.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM followed by funeral services at 8 PM with Rev. Rodolfo Mejia as celebrant at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Interment will take place in Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
