John M. Banasick, 76, of Perryopolis, formerly of Belle Vernon, died Monday, October 17, 2016 his home. Born August 16, 1940 in Scottsdale, he was the son of the late John J. and Sophie Yelenosky Banasick. A resident of Perryopolis for the past 10 years, Mr. Banasick was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon and was the former owner and operator of John's Auto Supply, California & Connellsville. He was also a life member of the Scottsdale Elks.
He is survived by his wife Margaret L. 'Peggy' Desantos Banasick; daughter & son in law Lisa & Greg Brown of Latrobe; two sons & daughters in law John P. & Kerri Banasick of Washington, Peter & Tara Banasick of West Newton; seven grandchildren Jessica, Alexis, Cameron, Evan, Austin, Makayla & Sydney; a brother David Banasick and a sister & brother in law Gerry & Regis Votilla of West Mifflin. He is preceded in death by a brother Peter Banasick; three sisters Cecillia Signetti, Carolyn Weber and Mary Ruth McFadden.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held Thursday at 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Msgr Roger A. Statnick pastor as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of John Banasick Wednesday at 3 pm in the funeral home.
