Joseph D. Elwell

Joseph D. Elwell, 59, of Dawson, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019, Dawson, Perry Twp.  Born July 9, 1960 in Connellsville, PA he was the son of the late Allen D. and Gloria R. Mellinger Elwell.  A lifelong resident of Dawson, Mr. Elwell was Methodist by faith.

Mr. Elwell was employed at Linden Hall, where he worked as a Grounds Keeper for 35 years. He was a member of the Perryopolis First Catholic Sokols Club, the Perryopolis Sons of Italy.  Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in the outdoors, country music and spending time with his nieces, nephews and family.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Farmer Elwell to whom he was married 24 years; daughter & son in law Nicole & Ryan Knight of Perryopolis; brother & sister in law Michael & Pamela Elwell of Dawson; sister & brother in law MaryLou & James Stanley of Dawson; 2 nieces Amanda Thompson, Samantha Elwell, 2 nephews Lucas Elwell, Marcus Wetzel, three great niece and a great nephew.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Melissa Snyder of Perryopolis First Christian Church officiating.  Interment will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
