Maria Mickey

Maria Saluda Mickey, 92, of Sewickley, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at Apple Blossom Memory Care, Moon Township. She was born on June 22, 1933 in Gary, Indiana, she was the daughter of betty Anderson Saluda and John Saluda. Maria married Henry Mickey on June 3, 1956 and they celebrated 69 years of marriage. Henry Mickey died on March 18, 2025. Maria loved fashion. She worked herself up in the industry as a salesclerk at Saks Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh, PA. when Saks closed its doors, she opened a little shop in Sewickley where she sold women’s blouses. Then she ventured out and opened a larger boutique on Beaver Street in Sewickley with designer clothes, showcasing the latest trends and timeless pieces from top labels. Maria not only had local clientele but was a personal shopper for her customers from the Pittsburgh area but also from Chicago, Illinois to Palm Beach, Florida. Maria did not have any employees. She was the owner, buyer and managed her businesses. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Maria is survived by her close friends, Norma and Bob Trombino of Belle Vernon, Marilyn and Terry Mewton of Sewickley, and Josie White and Mark Kujawski of Sewickley.

Private inurnment took place Belle Vernon Cemetery. Maria’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
