Michael Roskovich

June 9, 1943 — August 31, 2025

Michael Robert Roskovich, 82, of North Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at AHN Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills. Born June, 9, 1943 in Arnold City, PA. He was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Yencik) Roskovich. A resident of North Belle Vernon for the past 61 years, Mike was a retired coal miner from Mathies Mine Co. and later worked with his son at Roskovich Painting for 17 years.

He is survived by his wife Marie ‘Dee’ (Buchanan) Roskovich to whom he was married to for 61 years, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Sharon Roskovich of North Belle Vernon, daughter and son-in-law Michele and Chris Chovan of North Belle Vernon, three grandchildren, Alex Chovan, Jack Chovan, Kelsey Roskovich, sister-in-law Judy Johnson, sister-in-law Margo Roskovich, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Judy Buchanan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by stepmother Alba Roskovich, brother Frank Ronald Roskovich, sister and brother-in-law Marlene and William Smith, and brother-in-law Denny Johnson.

Pap, as he was known to his family, will be deeply missed. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather who lived a full and vibrant life. He was always on the go, talking to people and making friends everywhere he went. When he wasn’t working, he loved shopping and telling everyone about the great deals he would find! He enjoyed sitting on his patio listening to his “oldies” music, loud enough for the neighbors to hear. A passionate, lifelong sports fan, he was so dedicated to his home teams that he earned the nickname “Pittsburgh” among his friends in the coal mine.

But, at the forefront of everything was his family. His wife, Dee “My Love”, meant the world to him, and he was so incredibly proud of each of his grandchildren. They lit up his world! He lived for the holidays and spending time with his family. He had a gift for making even small moments feel special and memorable.

Private family visitation was held on Thursday followed by funeral services at Christian Center Church with Pastor Tim Burgan officiating. Mike’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
