Norbert J. Singel, 83, of Monessen, died Monday, October 31, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Born June 6, 1933 in Barnesboro, PA he was the son of the late Elias and Anne Fayak Singel Bartus. A lifelong resident of Monessen, Mr. Singel was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church, Monessen and retired in 1996 from Koppers Inc., Monessen where he worked in production control. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served in the Korean War and was an avid golfer with several leagues throughout the Mon Valley.
He is survived by his wife Anne Canestrale Singel to whom he was married 59 years; daughter & son in law LeAnne & Anthony Boscan of Rostraver Twp., son & daughter in law Michael N. & Christine Singel of Monessen; five grandchildren Mallory A. Boscan & Fiance Andy Goodman, Jonathan Boscan of Rostraver Twp., Robert Boscan of Carnegie, Alexander J. Singel of Monessen and Austin L. Singel of Monessen. He is preceded in death by his three brothers Bernard G. Singel, Elias A. Singel, Robert D. Singel and a sister Betty A. Doman.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Vincent Gigliotti of the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Twp. officiating. Interment will take place in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Monessen.
