Patricia "Patty" A. McArdle Molchan, 92, of Star Junction, passed peacefully on September 15, 2025 at her home with family beside her. Born March 26, 1933 in Star Junction, PA she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ann Monosky McArdle. She was a lifelong resident of Star Junction. Quite the prayerful woman, she was Catholic by faith and spiritual by nature. She was proud to be called Grandma Patty - and more recently - GGP (Great Grandma Patty) by her four great granddaughters.
Patty found great joy in baking - with precision and perfection - and was famous for her apple pies, peanut butter cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies. She loved country music - always playing the radio in her kitchen and listening, not only to the country classics but to the Pittsburgh Steelers as well. When she wasn't busy keeping house, she enjoyed reading and word search puzzles.
Known as Grandma Patty to all, she will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her kindness, wise mottos, and love and acceptance of all. She was a true inspiration to her family and friends. She had the most incredible memory, was engaging and curious, and while she claimed she was not "social," she loved the people she shared her life with and her frequent visitors. One of her favorite mottos was "There's a place for everything and everything has its place." Her place is now forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her son, Doug, and daughter-in-law, Connie (Chuboy) Molchan of Star Junction, PA; daughter, Angela, and son-in-law, Michael Ferrari of Hedgesville, WV; five grandchildren: Sarah (Patrick) Inman, Nicholas (Elizabeth Sunseri) Molchan, Katherine (Charlie) Molchan, Michael Ferrari, Cassidy (James) Harbaugh; five great-grandchildren: Sunnie and Noa Inman, Frances (Frankie) and Ada Molchan, and Gunnar Harbaugh. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Molchan, two brothers James and Gerald McArdle, an infant brother, four sisters Eleanor Hager, Mary Elizabeth Lipovsky, Janet McArdle, and Barbara McArdle.
Her family would like to thank those that showed love, care and kindness towards Patty including her chosen family - the Hissom sisters and spouses, their children and grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly and considered her family. Special thanks to her best friends, Carol H., Carol V., Charla and Susan, for their constant help and support. Patty said many times in her last days how "blessed" she was by the people in her life. You know who you are! Thank you.
