Rosemarie Lasko

June 23, 1934 — February 23, 2024

Rosemarie Lasko, 89, of Perryopolis died peacefully Friday, February 23, 2024.  Rosemarie was born June 23, 1934 in New York City, NY.  She was a graduate of Perry Township High School, class of 1952.  Upon graduation, she moved to Jenkintown, PA and worked as an operator for the Bell Telephone Company.  She worked there for two years, while her childhood sweetheart, Ed Lasko, had enlisted with the Marines and was deployed during the Korean War.   After this time, they both returned to Perryopolis, married, and began the start of their  life together as a married couple.

Rosemarie was a kind and giving person. She loved baking and many neighbors, friends, and relatives were happy to be the recipients of her delicious baked goods. She was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Church, Perryopolis, PA. where she taught CCD classes for several years. She was known for her contribution of delicious cakes, often pineapple upside down cake or chocolate frosted, for the cake wheel at the parish festival.

An avid gardener, she not only had her own beautiful flower gardens, she was a member of the Perryopolis Flower Club where she worked side-by-side with her neighbors to beautify this small town.  She worked with her husband to can many fruits and vegetables from the large garden they worked on together.  When her children picked blackberries, she turned them into delicious pies and jams.

She was very creative and loved using this talent in the way she decorated her house; even taking a painting class later in life. Her favorite colors were blue and pink and she incorporated them in her life in many ways. She loved being outside in the warm weather watching the birds around their yard, with a special love for hummingbirds.

Rosemarie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.   Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 67 years, Ed Lasko, five daughters; Adrienne Dzurko and husband John of Belle Vernon, PA; Daria Hough of Perryopolis, PA, Linda Feliciano, Perryopolis, PA, Rosemarie LeDonne and husband Domenick of Uniontown, PA and Jennifer Stewart and husband Skip of Greensburg, PA; along with 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
