Obituary

Salvatore Sciore Jr., 94, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp., having previously resided in Charleroi, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2026 at his home surrounded by his devoted children. Born March 20, 1932 in Beaver Falls, PA he was the son of the late Salvatore Sciore Sr. and Mary Clausi Sciore. Mr. Sciore was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Perryopolis and was a retired warehouseman from the former Fox Grocery. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the US Army. He attended the Perryopolis Senior Center and assisted with meals on wheels. Sal enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, watching old tv shows and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by children Milissa Bruce of New Stanton, Scott & Stephanie Sciore of Greenville, SC, Sharon Vargo of Belle Vernon, brother & sister in law Louis 'Gig' & Joyce Sciore of Smithton, and three grandchildren Craig & Mariann Bruce, George Vargo II, and Kala Vargo. He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores Rozzi Sciore, brothers Rocco and John Sciore, sister Vivian Igoe and son in law George Vargo Jr.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. All relatives and friends are to gather directly at St. John the Baptist RC Church, Perryopolis, Thursday for 10:30 AM funeral mass with the Rev. Anthony Onoko as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Salvatore Sciore, Jr. to one of his favorite charities St. Jude's Hospital or OSPTA Hospice.
