Samuel R. Thomas

Samuel R. Thomas, 88, of Perry Twp., Star Junction, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Born September 3, 1928 in Smock, he was the son of the late Oran and Jatie Masako Thomas. A resident of Star Junction for the past 48 years, Mr. Thomas was a member of Church of Jesus Christ, Vanderbilt and was a retired crane man from US Steel, Duquesne.
He is survived by his two sons & daughter in law Samuel O. & Ruth Thomas of Vanderbilt, Gary Earl Thomas of Pinckard, Alabama, daughter in law Linda Thomas of White Oak, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Anna Lou Dowden Thomas, a son James Robert Thomas, brother John Thomas and four sisters Molly Lint, Marie Prescott, Elsie Lowe, Margaret Strickler and Ida Jane Thomas.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Relatives and friends will gather at the Church of Jesus Christ Friday for 10 am funeral services with the Robert Nicklow officiating. Interment will take place in Flatwoods Cemetery, Vamderbilt.
