Shirley Jean Hegedus Stonfer, 85, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp., died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 4:40 pm at South Western Nursing Care Center. Born August 6, 1931 in Fayette City, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Edith Hawk Hegedus. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Stonfer was Methodist by faith and was a retired waitress from Roth's JIB's Restaurant, Charleroi.
She is survived by a daughter & son in law Deborah & Paul Gressly of Uncasville, CT; four grandchildren Dawnyelle Hatchett, Paul J. Gressly, Donald L. Gressly, Nicole Gressly; and three sisters Pauline Campaneo of McKeesport, Joyce Major of Donora and Carol Bridgemann of Groton, CT. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald L. Stonfer (7/19/2015) and a sister MaryLou Mazza.
