Thomas R. Weldon, Jr., 90, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 20, 2020. Born July 9, 1930 in Charleroi, PA he was the son of the late Thomas R. Weldon Sr. and Bernice May Weldon. He was a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 65 years, a member of St. Sebastian RC Church, Belle Vernon, graduated from Charleroi High School in 1948, then worked for Bell Telephone for 41 years as a lineman. Tom was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy submarine service aboard the USS Cobbler.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine Gillock Weldon to whom he married 65 years, three children Kevin Weldon, Lawrence Weldon of Belle Vernon both of Belle Vernon, Patricia Blevins of Warrington, two grandsons Justin and Christopher Blevins, three great granddaughters and brother Patrick Weldon of Charleroi. He is preceded in death by his sisters Nancy Farkos, Ruth Weldon and brother James Weldon.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9-10:30 AM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183 followed by prayers of transfer at 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
