Wayne Neal Sepitko

January 21, 1970 — November 27, 2022

Wayne Neal Sepitko, of Las Vegas, returned home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2022 at the age of 52, with his wife by his side.

Born in Washington, PA, he was the beloved and devoted husband of Shereen Sepitko, passing just a few months before their 16th wedding anniversary.

Wayne graduated with many honors from Charleroi High School in 1988.

He held an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Penn State. He also qualified for the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (Army ROTC) and was commissioned as an officer to serve in the United States Army.

Wayne earned a Master of Science (M.S.) Engineering Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a Mini Master of Business Administration (Mini M.B.A.) from the University of St. Thomas.

From a young age, Wayne had an innate drive to serve others which steered the course of his diverse and accomplishment-driven career with key leadership roles in the Army and commercial businesses.

As an Officer in the Army Corps of Engineers, Wayne led a construction crew on various building projects, receiving a commendation for building a training area for SWAT teams. In the course of Army career progression, he was assigned as the Planning Supervisor for a Basic Training Unit. In this role, he learned important lessons on human nature and how to train others. He always said, “The Army trained me to be a leader.”

Wayne loved working for Westinghouse. During his 20+ year career with the company, he was most proud of his role as Director PaR Nuclear and President NuCrane. The challenge of the role and leading of significant turnaround of the business motivated him. The more than 130 employees were always at the front of Wayne’s mind. He recognized that the business successes also resulted in sustained employment for the entire organization, which was always his priority.

As part of his heart for service, Wayne was also proud to be a member of Westinghouse’s Industrial Emergency Brigade and a volunteer reserve police officer in Richland County, South Carolina.

Wayne will be fondly remembered by friends and family as being a gentleman, kind, optimistic, strong in faith, a servant-leader, and courageous.

In addition to his wife, Shereen, he is survived by his father and mother, Myron and Evelyn Sepitko; sister, Camie Hayduk-Clayton; nephew, Nicholas Hayduk (Kaitlin) and their children Mikayla and Bentley; Uncle Joseph Perun (Diane); Aunt Mary Jenion and cousins Melanie Pratt (Chris) and Natalie Bostic (Bobby) and their children Brett and Belle; Mother-in-law, Angelina Villagomez; Brother-in-law, William Villagomez (Deborah) and their children Callista, Briahna, Alyahna, and Sophia.

He was welcomed at the gates of heaven by his Godchild Dillon, Father-in-law Erwin Villagomez, Uncle Mel Jenion, Maternal grandparents Sophia and John Perun, Paternal grandparents Fritz Sepitko, Mary and John Bailey, and Uncle Jack Bailey.

A memorial service for Wayne will be held in Pennsylvania on January 5, 2023 at 1:00pm at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 222 Mary St Belle Vernon, PA 15012. Reception to follow.
