Anthony John Haley

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony John Haley. Tony, 86, of Dawson, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital, Monongahela.  Born January 3, 1936 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Alma Haley.  Tony was a resident of Dawson for the past 47 years and was Catholic by faith. He was a retired bricklayer with J&L Steel in Pittsburgh, a member of Teamsters Union # 1843, and a member of Pittsburgh Works Social Club.

Tony was a happy, generous man who loved spending time with his family. He always had a smile on his face and gave the tightest hugs and firmest handshakes. He enjoyed going to Disney World, Kennywood, and Dollywood with his family and loved riding roller coasters until the age of 86. Tony was a loyal Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan. He was active at the Perryopolis Flea Market, where you could find his bright smile every Sunday morning. Tony will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carol Haley; four daughters Chris Shaw of Zanesville, OH, Lori (Jim) Deglau of West Newton, Diane Gondura of Perryopolis, Cheri Wade; a brother John 'Babe' Haley of Baldwin; 11 grandchildren Robert Gondura, Chad Gondura, Megan (Neil) Marshall, Shannon (Philip) Pisone, Rachel (Zach) Guiser, Tyler Elder, Haley Shaw, Ellie Shaw, Ryan Wade, Anthony Wade, John Pilgrim; four great grandchildren Macy Marshall, Leo Marshall, Jameson Pisone, Grace Guiser; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, Anthony Haley and a daughter, Cindy Pilgrim. A memorial service will be held at Bible Alliance Church, 1300 Mount Pleasant Road, West Newton on Saturday, August 20th at 12:00PM with Pastor Frank Todaro officiating.
