Edna Elizabeth (Patterson) Scaccia

Edna Elizabeth “Betty” Patterson Scaccia, 99, of Belle Vernon, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at William Penn Care Center, Jeannette.  Born February 7, 1924 in Pricedale, PA she was the daughter of the late Offie and Agnes Easton Patterson.  A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Scaccia was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church.  Betty was a homemaker and worked at Corning Glass, Charleroi, during the 1940’s.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting and being with her family and friends.

She is survived by son Russell Scaccia of Belle Vernon, daughter Linda J. Smith of Harrison City, five grandchildren Cheryl (Jeff) Anthony, Christi (Louis) Zhicay, Aaron (Jenna) Smith, Natalie Smith, Timothy (Yeji) Smith, and seven great grandchildren Jordan Amen, Morgan Anthony, Samuel Ali, Harper Smith, Graham Smith, Hailey Smith, Jack Smith; two great great grandchildren Sadie & Julia Amen.  She is preceded in death by her husband Samuel R. Scaccia, daughter Sandra Kay Scaccia, and six brothers James, Floyd, Thomas, Lloyd, Warren, and Glenn Patterson.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.  Prayers of Transfer will be held Monday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant.  Entombment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
