Gary R. Werner, 81, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp., passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Mon Valley Hospital, Monongahela.  Born December 1, 1938 in Flint, MI he was the son of the late Roy and Fern Knause Werner.  A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 5 years, having previously residing in Hopewell Twp., Mr. Werner was retired from J&L Steel, Pittsburgh, where he worked in the Blooming Mill.  Gary served in the US Army, was a member of the Ambridge American Legion, Ambridge Eagles, loved fishing, hunting and camping.  While residing in Hopewell, Gary always enjoyed being one of Santa’s Special helpers at Christmas.

He is survived by his wife LuluBelle Sarvey Werner to whom he had just celebrated 61 years of marriage on April 11th, daughter & son in law Hope & David Dennis of Washington Twp.; two grandchildren David Webb & wife Amberley Bush, Christopher Webb & wife Morgan; three great grandchildren Logan Webb, Lainey Webb, Trinity Webb and a great grandchild due in July; three sisters and two brothers in law Glady & Doug Cook of Washington, Dorothy Sessie of Rochester, Janet & Dan Colombin of Okmulee, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Joan Sullivan and Doris DiVecchio.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and state mandate funeral services will be private. A Memorial celebration of life will be announced at a later date.  Gary’s funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
