Georgia Jean Fodor Rush, 76, of Fayette City, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born May 10, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Katherine Blakney Fodor. A resident of Fayette City and Perryopolis for the past 38 years, Mrs. Rush was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was involved in other various parish activities and was employed as a receptionist at Mon Valley Hospital Center for Children’s Rehabilitation. Georgia, AKA wielder of the wooden spoon, loved all animals, enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandsons. She was always visible in the stands, was an active part of their lives and forever cherished her time with them.
She was the beloved mother of Georgia C. Rush of Pittsburgh, Francis J. Rush III & Wife Erika of Fayette City, Nicolas C. & Mary Rush of Afton, VA, Gabriella K. & Michael Sauritch of Fayette City; grandsons Anthony J. Sauritch, Harrison A. Sauritch; brother & sister in law Michael & Janice Fodor of Chicago, IL and her beloved cats Riley & Finnegan. She is preceded in death by her husband Francis J. Rush Jr., step mother Virginia Bennett, son Noah Rush and a brother John Fodor.
A private funeral mass will be held for the family due to the COVID-19 and state mandate.
